SC President Participated in the Conference of the Chief Justices of the Supreme Courts of the Council of Europe Member States

On 12 and 13 September the President of the Supreme Court Valentyna Danishevska upon the invitation of the Constitutional Council, the State Council and the Cassation Court of France participated in the Conference of the Chief Justices Courts of 47 Council of Europe Member States.

During the conference, seminars “Right to an Effective Remedy before an Independent and Impartial Judge”; “Relationship between National Courts and the European Court of Human Rights”; “Contrasting the Freedom of Expression with Protecting Private and Family Life”, were held.

Ukrainian delegation was also composed of the President of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine Nataliia Shaptala and the judge of this court Serhii Holovatyi.

Within the visit, the representatives of Ukrainian delegation participated in the reception at the Elysée Palace upon the invitation of Emmanuel Macron, President of the French Republic.

The Conference of the Chief Justices of the Supreme Courts of the Council of Europe Member States was held in Paris within the presidency of France in the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe, which started on 17 May 2019. Human rights observance is referred to the priority tasks of the Committee of Ministers.
