Case Law Uniformity Is One of Preconditions for Increasing Citizens’ Trust in Court – SC President while Seminar in Kherson

While seminar in Kherson, the SC President Valentyna Danishevksa remarked following: “Case law uniformity is one of preconditions for increasing citizens’ trust in court. Regular communication among judges of all instances and jurisdictions will promote better understanding of judgments of the Supreme Court, their application on practice by courts of first and appeal instances and, therefore, better protection of human rights and freedoms”.

Today the President of the Supreme Court Valentyna Danishevska and judges of the Grand Chamber of the Supreme Court Vsevolod Kniaziev, Dmytro Hudyma and Larysa Rohach, as well as the Vice-President of the Criminal Cassation Court Valentyna Shchepotkina work in Kherson.

The seminar devoted to the uniformity of case law is being held within the methodological assistance to judges of first and appeal instances. The seminar participants are discussing key judgments of the Supreme Court and problem issues, appearing while solving jurisdictional disputes.

This seminar is one of regional events aimed at ensuring the unity and predictability of case law, opinion exchange among judges of the Supreme Court and their colleagues from Ukrainian regions.

Judges of all jurisdictions from Kherson, Mykolaiv and Odesa oblasts participate in the event organized with the support of the USAID New Justice Program.
