Delegation of the Supreme Court Had Official Visit to Hungary

On 4−5 April 2019 representatives of the Supreme Court visited the city of Budapest upon the invitation of the President of the Curia of Hungary Péter Darák

Ukrainian delegation was represented by the President of the Supreme Court Valentyna Danishevska, the President of the Criminal Cassation Court within the Supreme Court Stanislav Kravchenko, the Head of the SC Division for International and Legal Cooperation Lina Hubar and the Chief Judge of the Kherson Appeal Court Oleksandr Korovaiko.

The delegation visited the Curia of Hungary and met with the leadership of this institution. The Ambassador of Ukraine to Hungary Liubov Nepop and the First Secretary of the Embassy of Ukraine to Hungary Oleksii Kondyk also participated in this meeting. Furthermore, Ukrainian delegation visited the High Court of Budapest.

While these meetings the activity of the judicial systems and peculiarities of functioning of the highest judicial institutions of Ukraine and Hungary were discussed. Besides, the participants of meetings focused on the application of effective mechanisms for ensuring the uniformity of case law in the both states, problems, the judicial bodies face with, and the ways of their solution.

The SC representatives and their Hungarian colleagues determined the areas of further cooperation.

This visit will promote strengthening professional links between the Curia of Hungary and the Supreme Court and will further the experience exchange between the courts of the both states.
