Today, 26 August 2026, with the participation of the President of the Supreme Court, Stanislav Kravchenko, the Minister of Justice of Ukraine, Denys Maslov, the Head of the High Council of Justice, Hryhorii Usyk, the Deputy Chair of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Committee on Legal Policy, Pavlo Pavlish, the Head of the State Judicial Administration of Ukraine, Maksym Pampura, deputies of the Kyiv Regional Council, presidents of the courts of Kyiv Region and representatives of the judicial corps, the ceremonial opening of the new premises of the Kyiv-Sviatoshynskyi District Court of Kyiv Region – the House of Justice – took place.
Welcoming the participants of the ceremony, the President of the Supreme Court, Stanislav Kravchenko, emphasised that the opening of a new court building in the present times is no ordinary event. It marks a new stage in the development of the judicial system, the strengthening of institutional capacity and the creation of better conditions for the administration of justice.
At present, while resisting Russian armed aggression, Ukraine is not only fighting for its independence and sovereignty but is also continuing to develop. And the new House of Justice is a fine example of the fact that these are not merely words, for already today we are directing all our efforts towards recovery and development.
One of the hallmarks of justice, the President of the Supreme Court noted, is the administration of justice under proper conditions. At the same time, it is of the utmost importance what fills the walls of the court – namely, the staff. “So one very much hopes that today’s opening of the new court premises will become the opening of a new page in the history of the court – a page of success, achievement, recovery and a peaceful future,” Stanislav Kravchenko expressed his wish.

The Minister of Justice of Ukraine, Denys Maslov, agreed that a court is not merely a building. A court is the people who work in it. Today Ukraine proves its resilience every day, and therefore it is important that every decision handed down in this House of Justice should become further evidence of our resilience. Such decisions must be fair, restore violated rights and enjoy the trust of the people. This is precisely the contribution of judges and court staff to the resilience of our state, the Minister of Justice of Ukraine summarised.

As the President of the High Council of Justice, Hryhorii Usyk, observed, the opening of the new court premises testifies to the development of the national system of justice. “This shows that we are thinking about the future, about ensuring proper working conditions for judges and court staff, and about creating comfortable conditions for court visitors. This work is extremely complex and important, especially under martial law,” Hryhorii Usyk is convinced.

People’s Deputy of Ukraine and Deputy Chair of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Committee on Legal Policy, Pavlo Pavlish, expressed his gratitude to the State Judicial Administration of Ukraine for its extremely significant work during such a difficult period for Ukraine and in conditions of underfunding of the judicial system. He noted that the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Legal Policy, in cooperation with the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine and the State Judicial Administration of Ukraine, is also making efforts to resolve issues relating to the financing of the judicial system.

The Head of the State Judicial Administration of Ukraine, Maksym Pampura, recalled that for the second consecutive year the Kyiv-Sviatoshynskyi District Court of Kyiv Region ranks among the twenty courts in Ukraine with the largest volume of court cases. In terms of the number of materials received it occupies first place in Kyiv Region, and in terms of their consideration – second place. Such a level of workload testifies to the need to create proper working conditions for the court and to ensure citizens’ access to justice.

In particular, in the new court premises a “single window” space has been organised for convenient communication with citizens, the number of courtrooms equipped with state-of-the-art technical recording systems has been increased to ensure the uninterrupted and timely administration of justice, and, taking into account the best international standards of justice, a “green room” has been set up – a space for the safe and psychologically comfortable interviewing of children who have suffered from violence or become witnesses to crimes, without repeated traumatisation.

Welcoming addresses to the participants of the opening of the House of Justice were also delivered by the President of the Kyiv-Sviatoshynskyi District Court of Kyiv Region, Tetiana Dubas; Judge of the Commercial Court of Kyiv Region and Secretary of the Council of Judges of Ukraine, Tetiana Hrebeniuk; Judge of the Kyiv Court of Appeal and Member of the Council of Judges of Ukraine, Tetiana Nevidoma; retired judge Volodymyr Mazurok; Deputy of the Kyiv Regional Council, Olena Dzhadalla; Deputy of the Bucha District Council of Kyiv Region, Oleksandr Tyhov; and Head of the Territorial Department of the State Judicial Administration of Ukraine in Kyiv Region, Svitlana Shevchenko.
