ECtHR case law in Ukrainian: new translations for the ECHR Knowledge Sharing Platform (ECHR-KS)

27 april 2026, 14:50

The Supreme Court continues to translate new materials on the case law of the European Court of Human Rights into Ukrainian to keep the ECHR Knowledge Sharing Platform (ECHR-KS) up to date.

Climate Issues

Climate-related matters are covered in the joint information note on the case law of the European Court of Human Rights and the Court of Justice of the European Union regarding climate change. The document summarizes key judicial practice in cases concerning human rights risks caused by climate change.

Protection of the Rights of Minorities and Persons with Disabilities

The ECHR Knowledge Sharing Platform has also published two new guides on ECtHR case law: the Guide on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and the Guide on the Rights of Minorities.

The first guide outlines the ECtHR’s practice in cases involving the protection of persons with disabilities and covers a wide range of issues – from procedural legal capacity to the provision of “reasonable accommodation”, access to court, and non-discrimination.

The second guide is dedicated to the rights of minorities and provides an overview of ECtHR case law concerning the right to self-identification, cultural, religious, and linguistic rights, the right to education, property rights, electoral rights, and other issues.

Protection of the Judiciary

Under the key theme “Protection of the Judiciary”, the platform presents ECtHR case law on procedural protection under Article 6 of the Convention, as well as the rights of judges under other articles of the Convention.

Additionally, the Overview of ECtHR Case Law for 2025 has been translated. It contains a summary of the Court’s most important decisions of the year, focusing on their significance for the development of ECtHR jurisprudence.
