Life imprisonment for treason: Supreme Court upholds sentence for spotter in rocket strike on café in Kramatorsk, where 13 people were killed and 64 injured

The Criminal Cassation Court of the Supreme Court has upheld the decisions of the lower courts, which sentenced the accused to life imprisonment for state treason (Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

As established by the courts, on June 27, 2023, the accused transmitted information about the location of Ukrainian Armed Forces servicemen in a café premises in Kramatorsk to a representative of a foreign organization – the “head of the intelligence unit of the DPR Ministry of Internal Affairs Command” – by recording and sending two video messages via the Telegram messenger with images of the specified object. On the same day, the armed forces of the Russian Federation carried out a missile strike on the café, resulting in 13 people killed and 64 injured.

The full text of the resolution of the Criminal Cassation Court of the Supreme Court dated March 31, 2026, in case No. 175/10123/23 (proceedings No. 51-1985км25) will be announced on April 6, 2026.
