This day is annually observed on February 24 – on the anniversary of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation into Ukraine.
According to the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Ruslan Stefanchuk, the National Prayer Day is a symbol of the unity of millions of hearts united by shared hope, shared pain, and shared faith. And it is in this joint prayer that something unbreakable by any enemy is born – the spiritual unity of the Ukrainian people.
The meeting began with a minute of silence in memory of the fallen defenders of Ukraine, as well as all victims of Russian armed aggression.
Afterward, prayers for Victory, just peace, and the entire Ukrainian people bravely resisting the enemy were delivered from the rostrum of the Verkhovna Rada. They were proclaimed by the Primate of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, Metropolitan Epiphanius of Kyiv and All Ukraine; the Ordinary of the Kyiv-Zhytomyr Diocese of the Roman Catholic Church in Ukraine, Bishop Vitalii Kryvytskyi; and the Senior Bishop of the Ukrainian Church of Christians of Evangelical Faith Anatolii Kozachok.

The event was also attended by Prime Minister of Ukraine Yuliia Svyrydenko, Head of the Accounting Chamber Olha Pishchanska, Commissioner of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for Human Rights Dmytro Lubinets, Head of the State Property Fund of Ukraine Dmytro Natalukha, and representatives of the All-Ukrainian Council of Churches and Religious Organizations.
In addition, delegations from the parliaments (Sejms) of Poland and Lithuania, the National Council of Slovakia, parliamentary delegations from the United Kingdom, Italy, and France, representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, diplomatic missions, and the international association United for Ukraine (which includes parliamentarians from Austria, Denmark, Estonia, Iceland, Spain, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Germany, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, France, Finland, Croatia, Czechia, Sweden, and the European Parliament) were present at the session.
