For an extended period, the Supreme Court has been actively engaged in the EU integration process and has now begun substantial work on implementing the measures outlined in the Rule of Law Roadmap. This work is being carried out, in particular, within the relevant Supreme Court working group, which includes representatives from all four jurisdictions. At the same time, for these tasks to be effectively fulfilled, it is crucial that all participants in the process act jointly and in a coordinated manner.

This was stated by the President of the Supreme Court, Stanislav Kravchenko, during a working meeting with representatives of the EU project "Pravo-Justice".

Oksana Tsymbrivska, Team Leader of the EU Project Pravo-Justice, highlighted the positive practice of the Supreme Court in establishing internal mechanisms for implementing the Roadmap, as well as the Court’s leadership in this effort.

During the meeting, the parties discussed further cooperation in carrying out specific measures under the Roadmap, for which the Supreme Court is the designated implementing body.

The discussion covered, in particular, the approval and implementation of a Unified Communication Strategy for the judicial authorities, expert support in developing protocols for interaction between the Unified Judicial Information and Telecommunication System (UJITS) and the Supreme Court’s Database of Legal Positions, and the concept for their integration. They also addressed the use of UJITS tools for administering the judicial system through monitoring statistics on case inflows and case processing.

The meeting was also attended by the Secretary of the Grand Chamber of the Supreme Court, Vitalii Urkevych; First Deputy Chief of Staff and Head of the Department for Analytical and Legal Work of the Supreme Court, Rasim Babanly; Head of the Division for International Cooperation of the Supreme Court, Lina Hubar; Deputy Team Leader of the EU Project Pravo-Justice, Olha Sribniak; Component Lead for “Judicial Reform” of the EU Project Pravo-Justice, Volodymyr Chaban; and Senior Court Modernization Expert of the “Judicial Reform” Component of the EU Project Pravo-Justice, Svitlana Maistruk.
