Meeting with representatives of the project “Strengthening Ukraine's Rule of Law for EU Accession” (3*E4U) held at the Supreme Court

The Supreme Court is actively involved in the European integration process. The relevant efforts are aimed at bringing Ukraine closer to European legal standards. And in this direction, the expert assistance of the international community is important for our country.

This was stated by President of the Supreme Court Stanislav Kravchenko during a meeting with representatives of the project “ Strengthening Ukraine's Rule of Law for EU Accession” (3*E4U) - Programme Director Helge Arends and Team Leader Policy and Legal Advice Artem Shaipov. The project is implemented by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH and funded by the German Federal Foreign Office.

During the meeting, the parties outlined the areas for further cooperation envisaged by the Rule of Law Roadmap and negotiating Chapter 23, Judiciary and Fundamental Rights. Helge Arends assured that in line with the needs and priorities identified, in particular, by the Supreme Court, the 3*E4U project, in coordination with other international partners, will continue to help Ukraine to harmonise national legislation with EU legal norms and support a constructive European integration process.

Other participants of the meeting included Rasim Babanly, First Deputy Chief of Staff - Head of the Department for Analytical and Legal Work of the Supreme Court, and Lina Hubar, Head of the Division for International Cooperation of the Supreme Court.
