The enforcement of court decisions is an integral part of the rule of law and access to justice. This topic was the focus of the High Level Conference “Better Enforcement of National Judicial Decisions: A Human Rights and Rule of Law Requirement” held in Strasbourg (France).
The conference, which became a platform for discussing systemic and structural problems related to non-enforcement of national court decisions, was attended by Vice President of the Supreme Court Oleksandr Mamalui.
The participants exchanged experience in organising court decision enforcement systems and reviewed best practices in this area. Particular attention was paid to the role of soft law in creating high-quality enforcement procedures.
As a result, the conference identified key issues and offered recommendations for improving the enforcement mechanisms.
The event was organised by the Council of Europe in cooperation with the Ministry of Justice of Luxembourg in the framework of the Luxembourg Presidency of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe.
