Grand Chamber of the Supreme Court upholds HCJ's decision to dismiss Vsevolod Kniaziev from the post of Supreme Court judge

On 18 July 2024, the High Council of Justice adopted a decision leaving unchanged the decision of the First Disciplinary Chamber of the HCJ of 17 June 2024 to bring Vsevolod Kniaziev to disciplinary responsibility and impose a disciplinary sanction in the form of a motion for his dismissal from the position of a judge of the Supreme Court.

On 15 August 2024, Kniaziev appealed this decision of the HCJ to the Grand Chamber of the Supreme Court.

After considering the cassation appeal, today, on 12 December 2024, the Grand Chamber of the Supreme Court decided to uphold the decision of the HCJ of 18 July 2024 to bring Kniaziev to disciplinary responsibility and dismiss him from the position of a judge of the Supreme Court.
