Vice President of the Supreme Court Oleksandr Mamalui visited the Commercial Court of Kharkiv region, the premises of which were significantly damaged as a result of another hostile shelling of Kharkiv.
On the evening of 28 October 2024, a guided aerial bomb hit the State Industry Building, which houses, among other things, the Commercial Court of Kharkiv region, directly hitting the office of one of the judges on the third floor.
Then, the building of the Kharkiv District Administrative Court, located near the State Industry Building, was also damaged.
Oleksandr Mamalui, together with Nataliia Novikova, the President of the Commercial Court of Kharkiv region, and Vitalii Usatyi, the Vice President of the court, inspected the premises destroyed by the enemy bomb and discussed the scope of work required to repair the damage.
Throughout the week, the staff of the Commercial Court of Kharkiv region and employees of other courts in Kharkiv actively contributed to the liquidation of the consequences of the air strike, and today, on 4 November 2024, the court resumed its work and is considering cases as usual.
During his working visit to Kharkiv, Oleksandr Mamalui also met with Pavlo Tykhyi, Vice President of the Eastern Commercial Court of Appeal, to discuss the extent of the damage to the court building caused by an enemy air strike on the city centre on 20 September 2024.
The blast shattered more than 70 windows, damaged groups of entrance doors and the glass roof of the building. Ceilings collapsed in offices and courtrooms, doors were ripped out, and office equipment and other facilities that ensure the administration of justice were damaged. Despite this, however, the Eastern Commercial Court of Appeal continued to operate normally.
