Stanislav Kravchenko is elected President of the Supreme Court

On May 26, 2023, a meeting of the Plenum of the Supreme Court was held, with the election of the President and Vice President of the Supreme Court on its agenda.

Four judges were running for the position of the Supreme Court President: judges of the Administrative Cassation Court within the Supreme Court Albert Yezerov and Nataliia Kovalenko, judge of the Commercial Cassation Court within the Supreme Court Ivan Mishchenko and the President of the Criminal Cassation Court within the Supreme Court Stanislav Kravchenko.

Following a secret ballot, Stanislav Kravchenko was elected to this position for a four-year term, with 108 judges voting for him. As for the other candidates, the votes of the Supreme Court judges were distributed as follows: 2 for Albert Yezerov, 13 for Nataliia Kovalenko, and 14 for Ivan Mishchenko. No candidate was supported by 11 judges.

During the session of the Supreme Court Plenum, Stanislav Kravchenko took the oath of office as a member of the High Council of Justice.

The issue of the election of the Vice President of the Supreme Court will be considered at the next plenary session after appropriate consultations with the judges of the Supreme Court.
