SC President Took Part in a Meeting with the President of Ukraine on Ukraine's Preparation for EU Membership

On June 28, 2022, under the chairmanship of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, a meeting was held to discuss the action plan to prepare Ukraine for EU membership and to identify specific tasks in this process for each of the branches of government.

The President of the Supreme Court Vsevolod Kniaziev also took part in the meeting. He, in particular, noted the need to improve the legislative regulation of the procedure for selecting judges of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine and drew attention to the issue of reforming the High Council of Justice and the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine in accordance with the Opinion of the European Commission of June 17, 2022.   

The SC President said that the speedy resumption of full-fledged work of the HCJ and the HQCJ of Ukraine was one of the main priorities of the judiciary in the coming months.
