The Ivankiv District Court of Kyiv Region Resumes Its Work

21 april 2022, 16:26

The Order of the President of the Supreme Court of April 21, 2022 ¹ 18/0/9-22 restores the territorial jurisdiction of court cases of the Ivankiv District Court of Kyiv region. In view of the existence of appropriate conditions for the administration of justice, the court will begin its work on 22 April 2022.

Instead, the Pereiaslav-Khmelnytskyi City District Court of Kyiv region (which previously considered cases under the Ivankiv District Court) must ensure the consideration of cases (proceedings) submitted to it before April 21, 2022 inclusive.

Launching the work of the Ivankiv District Court of Kyiv region, President of the Supreme Court Vsevolod Kniaziev paid attention to the fact that it was the first court in the territories liberated from Russian invaders which began its work just a few weeks after the Ukrainian soldiers finally drove the enemy out of this land.

The President of the Supreme Court thanked everyone who joined the resumption of the work of the court: the leadership of the Kyiv Court of Appeal, the territorial administration of the State Judicial Administration of Ukraine in Kyiv region, the leadership of the State Judicial Administration of Ukraine, the Council of Judges of Ukraine, the Court Security Service and, of course, the Ukrainian military. “I am also grateful to the judges and staff of the Ivankiv District Court, who insisted on the speedy resumption of the work of the court, and to the leadership of the court for their firm position to start work as soon as it becomes possible,” said Vsevolod Kniaziev and added that thanks to this, the residents of Ivankiv would begin to receive decisions on their cases in the coming days.

The SC President pointed out that one of the main tasks of the judicial system was to return to the high-quality and timely administration of justice throughout Ukraine as soon as possible. “Judgments issued in cases against invaders and collaborators are our part in the overall victory of Ukraine over the Russian enemy. The Constitution and laws of Ukraine, decisions made in the name of Ukraine, are also weapons in the fight against the Russian occupiers," he said.

Vsevolod Kniaziev expressed the hope that other courts of Kyiv region would soon start working - in Makariv, Irpin, where the court buildings were left intact. Work is also underway to resume the activities of completely destroyed courts, such as the court in Borodianka.
