Learning about the standards and mechanisms for ensuring integrity and judicial ethics in the Netherlands, as well as exchanging judicial experience, was the purpose of a recent study visit to The Hague, the Netherlands, by the Vice President of the Supreme Court, Oleksandr Mamalui, and the Judge of the Grand Chamber of the Supreme Court, Chairman of the Ethics Council, Lev Kyshakevych, as part of the Ukrainian delegation.

During the study visit, representatives of the Ukrainian judiciary visited the Supreme Court of the Netherlands and met with the President of the Court, Dineke de Groot.

The Ukrainian delegation was also introduced to the work of the Dutch Council of Justice and visited the Court of Appeal in Den Bosch and the Judicial Training Centre. A visit to the International Criminal Court was also important in the context of addressing war crimes and crimes against humanity.

The event was held under the auspices of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of the Netherlands as part of the Dutch-Ukrainian project "Fair, Transparent and Accountable Criminal Justice System in Ukraine", which aims to build a trustworthy and accountable judiciary.
