The Ethics Council has taken a decision concerning candidates for the position of the HCJ member nominated by the Congress of academics

On April 28 the Ethics Council took a decision on compliance of candidates for the position of the member of the High Council of Justice nominated by the Congress of representatives of legal higher educational institutions and research institutions with the criterion of professional ethics and integrity.

Two candidates nominated by the Congress of representatives of legal higher educational institutions and research institutions have been recognized as compliant with the criterion of professional ethics and integrity, namely:

1. Mykola Ivanovych Khavroniuk;
2. Oleh Viktorovych Rozhnov.

Moreover, the Ethics Council has taken a decision concerning candidates who do not comply with the criterion of professional ethics and integrity. According to the taken decision, these are:

1. Tetiana Hryhorivna Popovych;
2. Oleksandr Eduardovych Radutnyi;
3. Halyna Oleksiyivna Ulianova;
4. Larysa Vasylivna Didenko;
5. Serhii Oleksandrovych Kharytonov;
6. Serhii Oleksandrovych Kovalchuk;
7. Nataliia Oleksiyivna Melnychuk.

We would like to point out that due to requirements of para. 11 of cl. 23-1 of Section ІІІ “Final and Transitional Provisions” concerning voting to provide the opinion on the candidate’s compliance with the criterion of professional ethics and integrity, the Ethics Council has not taken the decision regarding Ihor Vasylovych Kovbas.

We would like to remind that overall 13 candidates for the position of the HCJ member nominated by the Congress of representatives of legal higher educational institutions and research institutions were admitted to the interview stage. However, 3 candidates submitted applications on withdrawal from the competition, including 2 before the interview stage and 1 after.
