The Ethics Council is hereby informing that according to provisions of Law of Ukraine No. 1635-IX the start of evaluation of the HCJ’s sitting members does not entail their suspension from positions and suspension of their authorities.
Suspension from the position and suspension of authorities of the HCJ’s sitting member could occur only after completion of evaluation, conduct of interviews, and only in case of establishing his/her non-compliance with the criteria of integrity and judicial ethics.
Besides, the Ethics Council would like to draw attention to the fact that evaluation of candidates for the position of the HCJ’s member in terms of compliance with the professional ethics and integrity criteria started on 24 December 2021, and interviews with the candidates are planned for 21 February 2022.
